Products containing molybdates are used in preference to other products, such as chromates, as a corrosion protection agent, above all in closed circulation systems such as water heater systems, cooling water systems. Here, however, the molybdate concentration must be maintained within controlled limits.

The basis for controlling this concentration is provided by the CHECKITComparator, using the “Molybdate HR“ colour slide. This has a measurement range of 50 to 500 mg/l MoO4 (the equivalent of 30 to 300 mg/l Mo). The test kit contains all the essential accessories and reagents required for analysis, so the operator is always in a position to check the molybdate content on site.

In addition, the range of CHECKITComparators can be used for many other determinations, such as aluminium, ammonia, bromide, chlorine, chlorine dioxide, DEHA, iron, fluoride, copper, manganese, sodium hypochlorite, nitrate, nitrite, ozone, pH values, phosphate, silicon dioxide, sulphite, total alkalinity and zinc.
